AlphaTON Capital to Acquire Majority Stake in Animoca’s Gaming Subsidiary GAMEE

AlphaTON Capital, a TON treasury company, has moved to solidify its position in the blockchain gaming sector by signing a non-binding letter of intent to acquire a 51% stake in GAMEE, the mobile gaming arm of Animoca Brands. The proposed deal includes both equity and token investments, with plans to purchase $4 million worth of GMEE and WAT tokens from open markets.

The acquisition aligns with AlphaTON's strategy to accelerate Web3 adoption across Telegram's massive user base. GAMEE's established presence on the TON blockchain—boasting 119 million registered users—positions it as a key driver for ecosystem growth. Market reaction saw AlphaTON shares initially dip before recovering in after-hours trading.

Token economics feature prominently in the transaction. Beyond acquiring majority control of GAMEE's treasury-held GMEE and WAT tokens, AlphaTON will execute targeted open-market purchases to deepen liquidity.
